About 500 spectators gathered around throughout the day to witness the Radness. And, they were not disappointed. The Street Division finals featured 4 of Atlanta’s best young skaters: Greyson Beal, Niko Howard, Brendan Lagna, and Zeke Logan. Niko Howard’s consistency, fresh legs after hours of skateboarding, and backside 360 kick flip over the centerpiece gap earned him the victory. Street Results: 1st Place: Niko Howard 2nd Place: Zeke Logan 3rd Place: Greyson Beal The Go Pro Best Trick Contest was more pain than pop. Skaters flung themselves down the impact section with utter disregard for their bodies and few riding away cleanly. Faith Skate Supply‘s Jason Sallisas’ death gap 50-50 was more than enough to claim the Hero 4 and the best trick crown. The Pool Division came down to an epic battle between Death Skateboards‘ Dave Allen and Hazard County Skatepark’s Jake Wooten. Jake had all his tricks working and walked away with the win. Pool Division Results: 1st Place: Jake Wooten 2nd Place: Dave Allen 3rd Place: David “Malachai” Smith To view more photos of this park, click here: http://sitedesigngroup.com/projects/details/swift-cantrell

SITE Design Group, Inc. is proud to have worked with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. and the Hudson River Trust on this amazing project. Unscathed by Superstorm Sandy's brackish inundation, Segment 5 is an enormously popular park in the formerly "parkless" Chelsea. The outward-looking centerpiece of the 5-mile Hudson River Park, itself a miracle of 30 years of public advocacy, Segment 5 is a resourceful and truly public space born of vocal neighborhood demand. It is a model for hurricane resilience and climate change adaptation, integrating creative engineering with a diverse range of uses and landscape types. In the Fall of 2014, Levi's Skateboarding (http://www.levi.com/skateboarding) partnered with Keith "K-Dub" Williams in West Oakland to revamp the existing Town Park Skate Park. Along the way a documentary was shot to tell a story of K-Dub, Town Park, West Oakland, and those who skate there. This documentary highlights the importance of skate parks for communities and the youth. SITE Design Group, Inc. worked with Keith "K-Dub" Williams and Levi's Skateboarding to provide West Oakland with a new skate park. Previously at the park were deteriorating wood ramps and now there is smooth concrete designed with an DIY approach. Local volunteers helped dismantle the wood ramps and prepare the site while SITE finalized the construction documents and worked through the city process.

SITE Design Group, Inc. worked with the Hudson River Park Trust to design and develop a new skate park in Tribeca or otherwise known as Segment 3. The construction of the upland park and public esplanade will include a habitat planting zone, lawns, seating areas, a dog run, overlooks, a skate park, basketball courts, public art, and other active and passive recreation opportunities. The skate park, located near Pier 25, is more of a “skate plaza” and includes popular street features such as stairs, ledges, and handrails. Stone veneer and brick pavers were used in the fine details of the design and offers the park a true “street feel”. Located in Lower Manhattan, the North Moore Skate Park design is different than the one located at Pier 62 and provides a different riding terrain thus offering a diverse skating experience for the skaters of New York.
