The City of Bemidji’s Park and Recreation Department is offering skateboarding lessons at the Bemidji Skate Park, near the Bemidji Curling Club beginning this Saturday. Participants will learn the basics of skateboarding including turning, balancing techniques, manuals, ollies, riding transitions, board maintenance and skateboard vocabulary. Helmets and skateboards are required and must be brought by participant.

The lessons will run through July 28. Beginner lessons will be held 10-11 a.m. each Saturday with intermediate lessons from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each Saturday. Registration costs $15 and is available online at
