Rune Glifberg’s 25th Anniversary Party

Check out these video highlights from Rune Glifberg’s 25 years of skateboarding that was celebrated in his hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark. SITE worked with a professional engineering firm and local skateboarders Soren Enevoldsen and William Frederiksen on the design of the skate park. SITE also consulted with professional skateboarder Rune Glifberg on the design of the transition areas.

Go Skateboarding Day At Etnies Skatepark
On Tuesday, join skateboarders globally in a celebration of Go Skateboarding Day.
The Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest is holding a two-hour skateboarding bonanza from 4 to 6 p.m. in honor of the day.
“Go Skateboarding Day is the official national holiday to go skateboarding,” skate park coordinator Nick Gates said. “We have hosted a Go Skateboarding Day event every year since we opened.”
Founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC), the day is celebrated by skateboarders worldwide.
This year’s event will include free barbecue, a skateboarding competition and a contest to see who can land the best trick up the new step-up (new ramp on the bottom of the set of stairs in the street course). Etnies team rider Devine Calloway will be a guest judge for the contest.
There will also be giveaways from Etnies and Skullcandy, Gates said.
