VOLCOM’S 2011 NORTH AMERICAN WITP TOUR

Around 200 skateboarders gathered at the Greenwood Skate Park in American Fork to compete in the first stop of the Volcom Stone's Wild in the Parks skateboard contest tour on Saturday. The contest was divided into three categories with the champion of the contest being eligible to compete in a final contest against the winners of other contests across the globe with a chance to win a prize of $25,000. The tour will be stopping at 11 other skate parks across the country. Because of the excellent layout and features of the Greenwood Skate Park, Volcom decided to once again stop in American Fork to host the contest. "Year after year it's an impressive stop," said Brandon Janssen, co-organizer of the tour. The tour was created out of a desire to create a less stressful contest format and a more enjoyable atmosphere. As part of this goal, Volcom decided to do away with contest entry fees. "It's about the kids," Janssen said. "It's about giving them an opportunity to showcase their skills and their talent." To view more photos of this park, click here:
