SKATE PROGRAM AT ANTHEM HILLS PARK

Novices and action sports fans can take part in a new skateboarding program offered by the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. Classes are held 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays from Jan. 23 through Feb. 27 at Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Dr. Children (minimum age 6), teens and adults can participate and safety equipment is mandatory. Registration is $85 for the 6-week session and can be made at any City of Henderson recreation center or online at cityofhenderson.com/parks (activity code 621166-00).

The all-new program places an emphasis on safety as participants learn techniques, teamwork, tricks and how to survey the terrain to avoid collisions. Each class includes instruction, open riding and suggestions to improve proficiency. Due to the personal level of attention each participant receives, drop-ins are not permitted.
