Apache -Superstition Shadows
Description
SITE Design Group, Inc. worked with the City and community members of Apache Juntion, AZ in the design and development of the Superstition Shadows Skate Park. The community embraced the idea of providing an alternative sports facility to their town in an effort to give the youth a safe and fun place to practice their skating skills. A series of workshops were held to determine the elements the riders felt would help create an ideal skate park. This collaborated community-skate park architect effort resulted in rave reviews from industry and local press covering the park’s Grand Opening in February, 2002.
