La Junta -Sk8way Skate Park
Description
After many years of hard work and fundraising efforts, the City of La Junta hired SITE Design Group, Inc. to design their first ever concrete skate park. The park consists of a hybrid street course that includes banks, hips, a pyramid and quarter pipes with extensions that lead into a 3-clover combi-bowl. Additionally, there is a 24’ wide upper deck with two hubbas and a fun box. The skate terrain accommodates skaters of all ages, all levels of ability and both street and transition style riding. The park opened in June 2004, and has been the host site of clinics, competitions and demos.
