Description
SITE Design Group, Inc. worked with the Hudson River Park Trust to design and develop a new skate park in Tribeca or otherwise known as Segment 3. The construction of the upland park and public esplanade will include a habitat planting zone, lawns, seating areas, a dog run, overlooks, a skate park, basketball courts, public art, and other active and passive recreation opportunities. The skate park, located near Pier 25, is more of a “skate plaza” and includes popular street features such as stairs, ledges, and handrails. Stone veneer and brick pavers were used in the fine details of the design and offers the park a true “street feel”. Located in Lower Manhattan, the North Moore Skate Park design is different than the one located at Pier 62 and provides a different riding terrain thus offering a diverse skating experience for the skaters of New York.
