It is with great dismay that today World Skate learned of the passing of our dear friend Bill.
William "Bill" Spooner was indeed a remarkable, passionate and dedicated man who has given so much to the international sporting world, to the USARS, and to World Skate: He began his competitive skating career in 1958 and he dedicated his entire life to our beloved sport as athlete, judge and manager.

World Skate President Sabatino Aracu said: "He will be greatly missed. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his wife Marian, his family and his friends."
